Family Dinner*

just got back from Ali Cafe. you know, the one at Kampung Melayu, Geylang ? yea, my family and i usually dine there once a month. delicious, i tell you. should really try the food there. :)

anywaaaays, there's this quite-cute waiter who was attending to us. i think he was the one who had that Rooney-hairstyle (Rooney as in the band Rooney. not Wayne Rooney k) the last time we went there. i used to adore his hair k. but today, he had his hair super short. all the better, at least i can see his face now. HAHA.

anyhoooos, as i was saying.. he was taking our orders when my dad told him my order, which was Bee Hoon Hongkong. (even nicer than that at Clementi.. imagine that !)

and, knowing my dad, he always.. and i mean ALWAYS gets my Bee Hoon Hongkong order wrong. whenever i asked him to buy me Bee Hoon Hongkong.. he will always say "one Bee Hoon Goreng Basah, please" as in the fried, red Indian-style Bee Hoon. he always get them mixed up. so today, not wanting him to get my order wrong, i interrupted.

the conversation:

dad: ah.. dengan satu Bee Hoon Goreng Basah. [oh and one Fried Bee Hoon]
Rooney dude: ok. satu Bee Hoon Goreng Basah, eh ? [ok, one Fried Bee Hoon ?]
me: pak, bukan Goreng Basah tau. dia yang lain nyer. bukan yang goreng nyer tau. [dad, not fried one, you know. it's a different one]
dad: *confused* yela. Bee Hoon Goreng Basah la tu. yang kuah dier pekat kan ? [yala correct la. the one with the thick soup, right ?]
Rooney: *waiting*
me: ahh. tapi tu bukan Been Hoon Goreng Basah. tu Bee Hoon Hongkong. [yah, but that's not fried Bee Hoon. that's Hongkong]
dad: same la tu. [same la]
me: lain. nanti bapak order yang merah-merah nyer. bukan tau. [no, different. later they give the red one. not that one.]
Rooney: *looking at us arguing*
dad: *turns to Rooney* Bee Hoon Goreng Basah yang pekat2 tu kan ? yang takde soup kan ? goreng dulu kan ? [fried Bee Hoon is the one with the thick soup right ? must fry first right ?]
Rooney: errrr. yela. goreng sikit lepas tu letak kuah pekat. [yah, must fry first then put the thick soup.] (i don't think he knows what he was saying cos he looked a bit blur. HAHA.)
me: bukan laaaa. *turns to Rooney* yang Bee Hoon kuah pekat tu. [no laa. the one with the thick soup, you know ?] (yes, i know. i'm repeating what my dad said. -_-)
Rooney: errmm. ah yela. *nods*
me: ah betul la. tu satu. thanks. [one of that, thanks.]
Rooney: ok *writes down*
dad: Been Hoon Hongkong yang mee dia putih-putih kan ? [Bee Hoon is the one with white mee, right ?]

(this is the cutest part !)

Rooney: *blur* ah ? putih-putih2 ? ermm.. tapi dier goreng dulu tau. so nanti dier macam ader chocolate-chocolate. [white-white ? erm.. fry 1st you know. then it will be a bit chocolate-chocolate.] (as in brown-brown)
me: *laughs*
dad: *smile but looking a bit blur* chocolate-chocolate ?
Rooney: *silly smile, very blur and calls another waiter*
dad: ahh takpe la. order je la.
Rooney: *laughs* okok. *writes and repeats order*

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

i couldn't stop laughing after that sia. you should have seen his face ! so blur and soooo cute siaaa !! cannot tahan, man ! with his hand gestures and his silly smile.

hen ke ai, lor ! wo si huan ! (please excuse my Mandarin spelling)

and i took this photo, trying to act "artistic" and all by capturing just half of my face. and coincidentally, he was at the back.




honest to God, i didn't know he was there. please la. i know i'm psychotic. but not to that extend k.

my sis said he looks a lil like Raymond in the comedy show ?

ermm.. maybe just the nose. haha. fine by me.

as we all know, Everybody just Loves Raymond, right ?
