i've been tagged to do this:-

I AM THINKING ABOUT:
HADY MIRZA~ SIGHS.
heh. nola. i'm thinking about whether i can get through that interview next week. *prays to God*

I SAID:
my thoughts out loud. i've been doing that quite alot lately. i wouldn't be surprised if people think i'm mentally unsound or something.

I WANT TO:

I WISH:
be a better muslim. oh.. and be rich. $_$

I WONDER:
who i'll end up with. (typical..........)

I REGRET:
not finding a job as soon as i graduate.

I HEAR:
some music from the TV. i think it's Paris Hilton a.k.a music's latest funny business.

I AM:
not you.

I DANCE:
when nobody's watching.

I SING:
whenever i hear a familiar song on radio, MP3, TV and most of the time, in my head.

I CRY:
when i watch sad/romantic movies or when any one of my relatives pass away.

I AM NOT:
you.

I MAKE WITH MY HANDS:
small gifts for my friends. at least i used to. hee.

I WRITE:
sins not tragedies. heh.

I CONFUSE:
myself.

I NEED:
you~ like water~ like breath~ like raaaaaaaain~ (Leanne Rhimes' song lar)

The World Is Turning In A Different Direction To Us*

i was busy marking some papers when a teacher approached me. she told me about the upcoming exams.. on how they need an adjunct teacher to teach the Malay language and how he's going to set the paper for their Final Year Exams yadayadayada. her sentences were full of flowers, rainbows and butterflies that i'd prefer the short, more direct version.

"we don't want you as a Malay relief teacher cos basically you teach crap and we want a more qualified teacher to teach / speak standard Malay, not Malay + (mostly) English and we want a teacher who knows how to set Malay exam papers. get my drift ?"

i mean. it's so much understandable. just say it. rather than beating around the bush.

i have a papercut on my hand. squeeze some lemon juice on it, why don't ya ?

i know i was bad at teaching Malay and i wanted to quit. but they needed me. they told me so. they couldn't find any other teacher at the moment. so they needed me. like need me need me, you know ?

they told me i'd be there till September 1st. but last Monday, when i was in the middle of my marking, she came to me and told me that it'd be my last day. WHA- ? i didn't have time to prepare my goodbye speech to my students (HEH. nak pulak ? blueks) and i'm supposed to get lil something-somethings for them. i miss them already. =(

and that adjunct teacher came, took all the textbooks and left. when i actually have one last class later that afternoon. =_=! jeeeeez. THANKS ah.

i know i shouldn't be upset about all these. cos after all, i am only a relief teacher. one who wasn't informed of any changes made there. but at least have the decency to tell me beforehand that i'd be ending my time there sooner than i was supposed to. i mean.. basic courtesy ? hello ?

she ended our conversation with a very reassuring, "we'll call you when we need you." and i just smiled.

rejection.

but hey, rejection's not a stranger to me.

hello Rejection. care to have coffee with me ? again ?

so be it. one door closes another one opens right ?

at least i'm back at Springfield. woohoo ! happiness ! i was greeted with warm smiles and "'Cher ! you came back !" from the students there.

took over 5C, 3F and 3C yesterday.

after being in an all-girls school for a month now, it feels sooo good to have boys in the class cos they're so freaking hilarious. the thing about boys is that, when they tell a joke, they tell it without shame. without having to care about how they look or sound like in front of others. they're just them. unlike girls who are self-conscious most of the time. that's what makes the boys hilarious. no matter how lame the jokes can be. cos it's all about the expressions and reactions.

the best class yesterday was definitely 3C. yes, they are a bunch of uncontrollable students. but they uncontrollable in a funny kind of way. get what i mean ? the girls are sweet and very interactive. the boys.. well, i can swear they made me tear cos they were so funny ! i still smile at the thought of their funny antics.

today bumped into Zana and Co. ! it's been ages since i've seen them and my mood lighten up as soon as i see them smiling faces. =)

it's good to be back. but i might not be back for long. i've got to find a job and it's currently in the process. wish me luck, people.

------

OY PEOPLE. VOTE FOR HADY K. OR JON K. K ?!

Hady's performance was oh-so-perfect. furthermore, i knew the words to the song. can it be more perfect ?

yes, me. knows a Sheila Majid song. i mean.. who doesn't ?

i must admit. i cried. his performance was so moving. it was when he told Dick that he always sing as though that performance is his last, that tears welled up in my eyes.

then when he cried, i cried some more. he's soooo sweet ! and oh-s0-romantic. i so agree with Flo.

and Jonathan. *sighs dreamily* wo ai ne ah, Jon. HAHAHA. and i thought he did quite a good job when he sang Electrico's Running Away. but i don't understand why the judges said he was bad. hmmm. it wasn't THAT bad.. was it ?

heck. i love the comments on Joakim. in your face, man ! a bit harsh. but hey, the truth ain't always nice.

and no, i'm no groupie. i just don't want Joakim to win, who will end up bringing shame to us Singaporeans when he goes overseas to "promote his album". though i doubt there would be any. but maybe there would. music is a very funny business. we've seen a lot of those like for example, Britney Spears.

alright, i'm gonna read a book now.

much love, people.

p.s: HADY K ! JON K ! YAY !

The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore*

ok.

teaching at KC is draining the energy out of me.

and no matter how tired i am at night, i can't seem to sleep before midnight. i'd always end up sleeping at 2. later even. and having to wake up at 6 and out of the house by 630 in the morning, leaves me cranky.

i'd leave the school by 3 or so after marking and when i get back home, i read. or sleep. depends.

i'd watch some shows at night if they were any interesting.

i'd read some more before i go to sleep in the early morning.

what i'm trying to say is.. currently, life has been monotonous. i can feel my brain turning into goo. amidst all these boring routines.

"we were meant to live for so much more" - Switchfoot

but who's complaining, right ?

thank God for the invention of books. God bless all writers in this world. oh. and God bless TV.

i need a new job. i need a permanent/full-time job. I NEED A FREAKING JOB !

and those job agencies ain't doing nothing for me. crap.

i'm broke. i need new clothes. i need new shoes. i need to freaking SHOP though i'm not a shopper. i just need some retail therapy right now. oh so terribly desperate for one.

and i'm missing alot of people.

i miss you, people. i hope you know who you are.

Frustration*

with reference to PIUU TEBABOOOH !* post, Singaporeans are Goddamn ridiculous. Singapore Idol is a freaking singing competition la, bloody. not a competition for some Cute Poster Boy. if you get what i mean.

the Cute Boy should really go man. he should pull himself out of the competition cos he's sucha waste of a really precious space in the competition. that guilty look you gave everytime you got into the Top Group just doesn't work, man. the current Idols trailer and even Gurmit was hinting that you should go, man.

people, i know his name sounds cool and superstar-material but his singing isn't as snazzy as his name. can you actually bear the torture of hearing him sing just for his looks ?

he gots to go, man.

end.

Don't you dig this life
They call the meek
You whose feet are on the ground
And if you get too high
What goes around comes around
And brings you down
Cause people gonna see you
How they wanna see you
People gonna rate you
People gonna hate you
People gonna shove you
People gonna love you
People gonna do whatever
Makes them feel they own you better

Cause everyone knows we're strange
Everyone knows we're different
So why do you feel ashamed?
We love you all the same

They only put you down if you give them permission

PIUU TEBABOOOH !*

"this is freaking ridiculous", i heard a (very cute) American guy said to the girl next to him. he was referring to the "cannot-breathe" and "stop-pushing-me-lar !" crowd.

yes, i agree. Singaporeans are ridiculous. i mean those who were at the Esplanade pushing through the crowd to get better fireworks-viewing spots. i was one of them. but hey, i happen to love fireworks k. it formed a great part of my childhood memory.

but.. he was saying that line to his Singaporean Malay girlfriend. tsk. dude, you're insulting your girl !

"just for the freaking fireworks", he said again, looking at the little Asians around him.

"if my dad was here, he would have paid a 100 bucks to get out of here. he hates people."

dude, i feel for your dad, man. sadly, i don't have a 100 bucks to bribe every freaking person there to get out of my way.

i was sweating like a freaking swine trying to push my way to the front. for Gudik's sake. she has been overly excited about the whole fireworks thing and i had promised her a good view. so gimme my freaking spot, dammit !

finally, an opportunity revealed itself. there it was.. the SPOT. it was like the light from the Heavens was shining on it, signalling to me that this is the spot.

ok, so it was beside the lamp post, so what ? it was still a perfect spot for us. still holding on to Gudik, pushed my way through again and finally.. the spot was ours. but we weren't right beside the bay. no, we were far from it. but it was a clear view (let's ignore the huge tree on the left, k ?). perfect.

then i heard it..

"10"

"9"

"8"

"7"

"6"

"5"

"4"

"3"

"PIUUUU TEBABOOOH !"

yep, the countdown didn't last till 0. apparently, those who started counting were typical Singaporeans who were a little too eager. it was funny, though. heh.

it was sheer enjoyment. the fireworks were so pretty. the French were brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. as the saying goes, "save the best for the last".. it was the best so far. i love the part where the fireworks shot up in the air and branched out to form.. ermm palm trees ? heh ? they looked like palm trees, really. it was be-you-tea-fool. we loved it. although i was suffering the whole time, carrying Gudik in my arms so that she could have a perfect view, i totally enjoyed it. now i can barely bend my arms in 90degree angles. it's better than lifting weights. trust me. i can already feel the muscles growing. k lame. heh. seriously, we were awed by the fireworks. i didn't manage to take pictures though. dammit !

going home was a torture. the usual pushing and the usual "breathing-down-the-neck" thingy was making Gudik all tired and whiny.

i had to deal with the constant, "Kak Izah.. she stepped my slipper but never say sorry.." complaints.

when i couldn't take it anymore, i turned to Gudik and said, "mane dier ? meh sini, kiter tumbok muka diaaaa !" punching my fist midway in the air.

i was supposed to say that in a whisper. i was supposed to say that silently. but it came out loud and firm. i truly underestimated the power of my voice. at that very moment, everyone looked at me. waiting for my next move i guess ?

"errr. eheh ?", was my reaction and i turned to join the crowd. *superkeduper paisey*

met Mus and Lut at City Hall platform but didn't manage to meet up with Z. sighs. oh well.. maybe next time.

Gudik:

before..

apek feeling Bollywood ?

after..

see how tired she looked ?

Pirates tomorrow. like.. finally.

My Island Home*

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE !

i know this might sound corny, but.. i love you, Singapore !

haha ! kentals nyer aku. but i'm proud to be a Singaporean. where we are all safe from natural disasters, wars and political conflicts. Alhamdulillah.

and i caught the fireworks from my bedroom window ! yay ! my favourite part of National Day. hehe.

with flash.

without flash.

so blurry~ sobs.

ok that's all.. leave you guys with this:-

a huge photo found at Damai Primary School's hall. that's my sister a.k.a Gudik with the sunflower !! =)

The Lake House*

yessa~ finally watched my Keanu in Lake House.

you guys should really watch it ! damn sweet, i tell you. well, i think it's more of a girl's movie than a guy's movie. you know, the romantic, feel-good kind of movies that leave you having warm, fuzzy feelings at the end of it. it's just plain sweet ! i like !

actually Ben and i missed about 10-15mins of the show cos of me HEH. Feez missed about 20 ? i think. but the movie's gooood lar. though doesn't really make sense. but hey, they say God works in mysterious ways, right ? heh.

the only thing i hate about watching Lake House is the couple sitting beside me. i think they were, i don't know, 14-15 years old ? they started talking about halfway through the movie, which was ok with me. i mean, everyone will talk during a movie at some point of time right ? unless you're alone, that is.

BUT.. when the movie reached its conclusion, the climax of the movie, the part where everything finally makes sense, the most important part of the movie.. the girl just HAD to exclaim, "OH MY GOD. SO SWEET. OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD !!"

oh YOUR GOD LAR. she kept repeating that very same line for about a 100th time, i think. ok i was exaggerating. but it was damn alot lar. i was like, "i'm trying to watch the movie here~" but she didn't shut up. she kept saying that line again. even louder this time. i was like, "COUGHS COUGHS. TSK !" still, nothing got into the head. i even turned and stared. but yep, you guessed it. sighs. kids will always be kids, right ? ceybah. mana nyer tua jer kau, fizah. but it was bloody irritating la. the boyfriend even encouraged her. through thick and thin, huh ? *roll eyes*

Ben suggested that i should throw some popcorns at them. haha. but no, i'm a peace-lover k, Ben. besides, i don't wanna create a scene or i'll miss the feel of the ending. HEH. and to make it worse, no one "shhhh-ed" them. they only stared like i did. bleargh. i'll remember their faces forever. so that the next time i watch the "OH MY GOD, SO SWEET"- kind of movies, i'll make sure i sit far, far away from those two.

ok then after the movie, went to Al-Falah for prayers where we met Pak Polisi a.k.a Faisal. wanted to eat at Lucky Plaza but due to the fear that we will miss the fireworks, we decided to eat somewhere near Marina. when we reached Marina Square, the food places were full of people. so watched the fireworks first before scavaging for some food. the fireworks were pretty pretty ! i like ! though i could have chosen a better place to watch it. heh. sorry, guys ! thought Rad and Lut would join us. but they were having a great dinner at Seoul Garden. makkk ai. gi Seoul Garden tak ajak sey ! hehe ! btw Lut, we will watch the last fireworks together k. make sure you don't miss this one !

with stomachs growling, we walked from the Esplanade to Lau Pa Sat [is that how you spell it ? heh] and we couldn't find a seat for about 20mins ? by then, my mood was way down low. after eating, took the train to Tampines where we missed the last bus. cabbed home and braced myself for some "piza ni.. anak dara balek2 lambat2 eh.. tak manis tau gitu" from my dad. surprisingly he didn't say anything. phew~

*sniffles*

i think i caught the flu bug. dang it, Feez !

p.s: photos might be up later. depends on when Mr Cameraman's free to send them to me. oh.. and I WANNA WATCH PIRATES LAR !!

Tebaaaabom !*

the fireworks were so preeeetty !

pretty pretty fireworks and pretty pretty friends to watch them with. =)

as quoted by Nad, "TEBABOOOM !"

pretty right ? should have more pics of the fireworks though. hee.

Gudik as the camerawoman. told ya she's good. ;)

Gudik sleepy liaaooo.

hope everyone can make it for the next fireworks outing. poor Rad, she only joined us when it's time to go home. she looked really tired and stressed out. hang in there k, Rad.

and i still haven't watch Pirates. it's gonna be extinct soon ! i ain't waiting for anyone to watch with me anymore ! hopefully get to watch Lake House tomorrow. if everything's cancelled, i'll watch it by myself.

much love, people.

Singapore Idol*

Jonathan and Hady two of the bottom three ?!

WHA-?

this is the first time i watched Idols. started watching it since the top 12 were announced. yee. aku tgk Singapore Idol. kental eh aku ?

it's not official yet but i think Idols is turning into a popularity contest rather than a singing contest. seeing some undeserved "talents" are in the top group yesterday.

stupid Singaporeans.

err. *coughs* National Day is coming everyone ! HURRAH.

p.s: i simply adore Jonathan ! haha ! i know.. forget about the small eyes [those who are offended, don't blame me. i'm just quoting what they say.], people ! he's got a hot voice [though he needs to choose better songs], hot hair and a hott SMILE ! heh. i'm one who falls for guys with nice smiles. oh and nice teeth !~ sighs.

Go Hady ! Go Jonathan !
